Math Teacher + Special Education (High School)
About This Role
Awsaj Academy is a specialized institution currently catering to over 700 students from Pre-3 to Grade 12 who present a variety of learning needs and challenges. The majority of our students experience mild to moderate learning difficulties, while others have distinct medical diagnoses that result in more complex educational hurdles. As the only school of its kind in Qatar, Awsaj Academy is recognized as a leading institution in the region for educating students with disabilities.
The Academy provides a robust curriculum designed to meet the academic, social, emotional, and research-based needs of our students. Our high-quality educational programs are adaptable to each student’s abilities, ensuring that they receive the behavioral, therapeutic, and academic support necessary for success in further education, higher education, employment, and community involvement.
Awsaj Academy is accredited by international organizations and offers a High School diploma in alignment with American Standards. For students who do not follow the diploma track, we offer a specialized pathway for those with additional needs.
Instruction at the Academy is conducted in English across most subjects, with Arabic, Islamic Studies, and Qatar History taught in Arabic. More than 98% of our students are Qatari and English Language Learners. Our classes are coeducational and incorporate dual-language strategies.
Located in the vibrant and innovative Education City of Qatar Foundation, Awsaj Academy features exceptional facilities for teaching and learning.
Our students face diverse learning challenges that necessitate a dynamic, flexible, and responsive educational environment. Classes maintain an approximate teacher-student ratio of 1:10, supplemented by specialized resource bases such as Empower and Nurture, staffed by teachers, instructional assistants, and interventionists.
Our holistic approach is supported by a strong multidisciplinary team that includes therapists, psychologists, and specialists, along with education counselors, a school nurse, and behavior specialists. Our dedicated Arabic and Islamic Studies team supports all students, regardless of their learning profile.
At Awsaj Academy, we firmly believe in the importance of every child and their right to belong. We are committed to persisting with every student, acknowledging and addressing the challenges they encounter on their educational journey.
Awsaj Academy is situated within Qatar Foundation (QF), established in 1995 by decree of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Emir of Qatar.
