School Nurse
About This Role
We are seeking a motivated and experienced School Nurse to become a part of our team at The Millennium School in Dubai. Reporting to the School Doctor, the successful candidate will play a key role in fostering optimal learning by identifying health-related barriers to education and addressing the health needs of each student, thus enhancing their capacity to learn.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that students and their families are well-informed about and comply with immunization programs in accordance with Ministry of Health guidelines.
- Be accessible to students and staff to meet their immediate medical needs and provide medical advice.
- Maintain thorough medical records for all students as required by the Ministry of Health.
- Develop procedures for administering first aid in cases of accidents or illness on campus or during school events.
- Promote and embody the ethos and standards of excellence defined by the GEMS Core Values.
- Appropriately refer any accidents or illnesses to the school doctor or hospitals, while keeping parents and the school Principal informed.
- Attend all student-related activities on campus.
- Stay informed about current medical practices and regulations as mandated by governmental authorities.
- Ensure compliance with GEMS policies, procedures, and codes of conduct at all times.
- Demonstrate initiative and dedication beyond the regular workday when tasks require additional commitment.
- Carry out other duties as assigned by direct and indirect reporting line managers/supervisors.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Registered Nurse
- Dubai Health Authority (DHA) nursing license
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Dubai
- Experience in a school or nursery setting is required.
