Humanities Teacher
About This Role
Doha Academy is an expanding network of schools located in the vibrant capital of Qatar. Established in 2000, the Academy comprises three schools that provide a KG-13 education based on the British curriculum as well as the Qatar national curriculum. Our mission is to cultivate outward-looking, lifelong learners through a comprehensive educational offering rooted in local cultural values and traditions.
As an ambitious institution, Doha Academy is governed by Al Faleh Educational Holding, which also includes AFG College in partnership with the University of Aberdeen. Working at Doha Academy offers exceptional career advancement opportunities for individuals who are ambitious, innovative, and prioritize student-centered decision-making.
As we grow, we are eager to connect with qualified and experienced educators who view teaching as a vocation. Applicants should hold a Bachelor’s degree in their teaching subject along with a recognized initial teacher training qualification. We highly encourage early applications.
Interviews will be conducted either in-person in Doha or online for candidates applying from abroad.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Academy during a transformative period. Earlier in 2022, Doha Academy was awarded full Qatar National Schools’ Accreditation (QNSA) and gained full international accreditation from the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) in November 2022, embarking on its highest “ACE Learning” pathway.
The school is dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young individuals, and we expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
Our compensation package includes:
- A tax-free, competitive salary
- An annual return flight to your home country
- Complimentary bus transportation to and from the school
- A fully furnished shared two-bedroom apartment with on-site security
- Medical coverage
- A two-year renewable contract
- End of service gratuity
Married teaching couples are encouraged to apply. We do hire Newly Qualified Teachers (NQTs), though we currently do not offer an ECT support program.
