Se-Se-Wa-Hum School, located in Big River First Nation, is seeking a passionate and motivated Special Education Teacher to join their team for the 2026-2027 school year.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Developing and implementing lesson plans that encompass a variety of subjects.
- Evaluating and grading students’ comprehension and performance in the coursework.
- Engaging in conversations with students and parents about educational issues.
- Cultivating a welcoming, inclusive, and safe learning environment that promotes student achievement.
- Creating lesson plans and teaching strategies that adhere to school guidelines.
- Conducting assessments to monitor student progress and identify areas for growth.
- Establishing an engaging learning space tailored to the specific needs of each student.
- Developing and employing lesson plans and instructional materials through a variety of activities, including quizzes, competitions, and group discussions.
- Supervising and managing classroom behavior and activities.
Requirements:
- Strong scheduling skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Bachelor of Education degree and a Saskatchewan Professional A teaching certificate.
- Proficient classroom management abilities.
- Ability to teach students with a range of learning needs.
- Knowledge of the Saskatchewan Curriculum.
- Cross-Cultural experience is a plus.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
- Must be able to provide a satisfactory Driver’s Abstract, Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Must be able to provide proof of prior teaching experience (if applicable).
