We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dance Teacher to join our dynamic and growing team during this exciting period of expansion. As student interest in dance continues to rise, this role offers a unique opportunity to shape and enhance our ambitious program.
The perfect candidate will deliver high-quality instruction in GCSE and BTEC Dance, fostering both technical proficiency and a deep appreciation for performance and choreography. Furthermore, there is ample opportunity to lead and enhance a vibrant co-curricular program, which includes dance clubs and paid classes, thus enriching the overall experience for our students. Applicants must hold a PGCE and/or an accredited dance teaching qualification.
We are especially interested in educators with a background in theatre dance, modern jazz, and/or ballet, who can bring energy, expertise, and industry-relevant practices into their teaching. A strong passion for performance, creativity, and the ability to nurture student confidence are essential.

Key Duties
Teaching and Learning
- Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans;
- Teach assigned students, adapting to their educational needs while upholding high standards;
- Set and evaluate students' work, including exams;
- Assess, document, and report on students’ growth, progress, and achievements;
- Provide constructive feedback to support student advancement;
- Adjust lesson plans based on student input and performance;
Reporting and Assessing
- Regularly submit reports and grades for students in accordance with the School’s reporting schedule;
- Identify and escalate any concerns regarding students;
- Attend parent-teacher meetings, providing oral updates to parents;
- Prepare references for students upon request;
- Assess and report on potential students as required;
- Organize examinations and assessments for students, including standardized assessments;
Other Duties
- Record attendance promptly and inform a senior staff member of any concerns regarding a student's whereabouts;
- Maintain a lively and conducive classroom environment;
- Support the wellbeing of all students in your classes;
- Promote positive behavior among students;
- Address any concerns related to students’ wellbeing, notifying the safeguarding team as needed, while keeping accurate records;
- Communicate with parents of students;
- Accompany students on school trips and outings;
- Supervise students and their activities as necessary;
- Lead two extracurricular activities each week;
- Assist in promoting the School to potential students and their families;
- Provide cover for absent colleagues when needed;
Secondary School
- Attend and actively participate in department and staff meetings as required;
- Engage in department development plans and schemes of work, and complete tasks assigned by the Head of Department;
- Serve as a mentor or Sixth Form Tutor for a group of students, offering guidance on educational, career, and social issues, and lead PSHE lessons;
Professional Development
- Participate in ongoing professional development through CPD, further reading, and other learning opportunities;
- Engage in the School’s focused development program and annual performance management;
- Take part in CPD initiatives organized by the School, such as observations;
