Crofton House School is on the lookout for a skilled learning resource teacher. You will join a collaborative teaching team dedicated to fostering the growth and development of young girls in the Junior School. Responsibilities:
Learning Support & Instruction
•
Create a positive and supportive learning environment that recognizes diverse learning profiles
•
Enhance classroom learning through small-group and individual instruction
•
Interpret psycho-educational assessments
•
Develop, implement, and evaluate Individual Education Plans and school-based support plans
•
Serve as a case manager for individual students, providing personalized instruction and learning assistance
•
Document evidence of learning to assess student growth and inform next steps
•
Incorporate meaningful technology into student learning
Collaboration & Team-Based Support
•
Work in tandem with learning resource teachers to provide integrated support for Junior School students
•
Collaborate with educators to enhance their ability to assist students with learning needs
•
Facilitate a collaborative approach among teachers, parents, and paraprofessionals
•
Lead grade-specific Student of Consideration meetings
Documentation & Compliance
•
Maintain accurate records and documentation for individual students, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with Ministry of Education standards
School Life & Professional Growth
•
Engage in a vibrant professional development network

Participate in co-curricular activities and clubs
•
Help supervise students during non-instructional periods
•
Take part in school-wide events
Qualifications, Knowledge, Experience:
•
B.C. Ministry of Education Certificate or Independent School Certification
•
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
•
Degree or diploma in Special Education is a plus
•
Knowledge of the BC Ministry of Education Special Education policies and procedures
•
Previous experience teaching in a learning resource capacity at an elementary level
•
Experience in creating and implementing IEPs
•
Understanding of how to support diverse learning styles among elementary-aged girls
•
Collaborative, energetic, and passionate about teaching
•
Exceptional written and oral communication skills
•
Proven ability to be innovative, adaptable, highly organized, and detail-oriented
•
Enthusiasm, commitment, and readiness to engage in co-curricular programs and the diverse life of the school community
Employment and Application Details:
Classes commence in September 2026, following teacher orientation in late August 2026.
Crofton House School offers competitive compensation and resources for professional, educational, and leadership development. All applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada and possess a valid BC Teaching Certificate. Applications will be assessed as they arrive.
Compensation: $69,541-$123,242 based on experience and educational qualifications.
