About This Role
The Head of Boarding plays a vital role in the daily and strategic management, organization, and leadership of the Boarding program. This position is dedicated to prioritizing a student-centered approach, ensuring that student well-being and development remain central as they guide efforts to integrate the Mission, Motto, and Strategic Priorities of UWC Thailand into the student experience. The Head of Boarding serves as a primary role model in embodying the school’s core values, striving to cultivate a Boarding culture that is nurturing, supportive, and respectful, while aligning with UWC Values and the characteristics of the IB Learner Profile. This role requires a careful balance between promoting student voice, agency, and growing independence, alongside maintaining guidelines and rules that ensure a high level of care and safety.
The Head of Boarding will manage a house parent load of 20 to 30%.
Required Qualifications and Experience
• 3 - 5+ years of experience with students aged 12+ in a residential setting is preferred, with a solid understanding of the operational practices relevant to this role, the developmental needs of adolescents and young adults, and the legal standards for student supervision.
• A minimum of 2 years of formal leadership experience is preferred, with a demonstrable record of positive impact.
• A strong capability to develop and lead a talented team is essential.
• A degree and/or professional teaching qualification is mandatory.
• An international driving license is required.
• First Aid and CPR certifications are preferred.
