Position Title: ES/MS Strings Teacher
Division: Elementary School & Middle School
Supervisor: Division Principal/Assistant Principal
Position Summary:
The Middle School Strings Teacher is essential in inspiring and guiding students in grades 5 through 8 as they develop their musical talents, appreciation, and performance skills on string instruments, which include violin, viola, and cello (with double bass also required). This role involves fostering a love for music through engaging instruction, collaborative ensemble activities, and performances that promote creativity, teamwork, and excellence. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to implement clear, developmentally appropriate teaching strategies that are evidence-based, contemporary, and integrate technology, inquiry, and creativity as core components.
To fulfill the Concordia school-wide learning outcomes (SLOs) and adhere to grade-level standards, the teacher will engage in a variety of broad and specific tasks within the areas of Planning and Preparation, Classroom Management, Instruction, and Professional Responsibilities.
Concordia seeks specialists who possess a strong understanding of MTSS and UDL and can seamlessly incorporate these frameworks into the design of inclusive and engaging learning experiences for all students.
