Do you want to join a team that truly makes a difference to children and young people’s lives?

An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a Behaviour Support Worker to join the Behaviour Team at East SILC. We are seeking a skilled, calm and positive practitioner with experience of working with vulnerable pupils with complex behavioural and communication needs, who can contribute positively to a nurturing, structured and inclusive learning environment.

Delivering targeted interventions to individuals and small groups

Supporting the delivery of behaviour support strategies, including Team Teach

Contributing to training and supporting systems and processes across sites, under the direction of the Lead Behaviour Support Worker

You will be a strong communicator who can build trusting relationships with pupils, staff and families, and who embodies the values of East SILC through kindness, integrity, ambition and collective responsibility.

The successful candidate will be based initially at the Roger Cannon or Jack Clark site, but may be required to work across other East SILC sites in line with organisational need.

The ideal candidate will:

Have experience working with children or young people with SEND and behaviours that challenge (primary or secondary experience desirable)

Be calm, resilient and emotionally attuned, with a strong understanding of de escalation and relational approaches

Be committed to promoting positive behaviour, emotional regulation and a sense of belonging for all learners

Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team

Be willing to undertake and support behaviour related training, including Team Teach

Hold an NVQ Level 3 in Teaching and Learning (or equivalent)

Have GCSE Grade 4 (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics
