About This Role

We are looking for a compassionate, highly organised and resilient Safeguarding and Welfare Officer to join our school team. This important role will help ensure that pupils feel safe, supported and ready to learn by coordinating safeguarding activity, responding to welfare concerns and working closely with children, families and partner agencies.

About the role

Act as a key point of contact for safeguarding and welfare concerns, responding promptly and following the school’s reporting and referral procedures.

Maintain accurate, confidential safeguarding records and support the Designated Safeguarding Lead with case management, audits and statutory reporting, under the trust's Director of Safeguarding.

Provide sensitive, practical support to pupils and families, helping them access appropriate early help and specialist services.

Liaise effectively with social care, health, police and other partner agencies, contributing to meetings and agreed actions.

Support staff to recognise, record and report concerns, and contribute to safeguarding briefings and training.

Promote a strong culture of safeguarding, wellbeing and early intervention across the school.

About you

You will have excellent communication, organisation and record-keeping skills, sound professional judgement and the confidence to manage sensitive and sometimes challenging situations calmly. You will understand the importance of confidentiality, professional boundaries and child-centred practice. Experience in safeguarding, pastoral care, family support, education, social care or a related setting is highly desirable. Knowledge of relevant safeguarding guidance and multi-agency working would be an advantage, alongside a good standard of English and mathematics and confidence using digital case-management systems.

£33,672.00 - £36,581.00 Annually (FTE) TTO - actual salary is £29350 - £31886
