About This Role

The Wensum Trust is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, creative, versatile and well-organised Design & Technology Technician to join the Design & Technology Department at Hellesdon High School. We are looking for someone who is passionate about Design & Technology and committed to supporting high-quality teaching and learning across the department.

The successful candidate will provide excellent technical support, helping to ensure that practical lessons run safely, smoothly and effectively. Ideally, applicants will have a strong background in Design & Technology and be able to bring fresh ideas, practical expertise and a positive approach to a small, supportive team. The role would suit someone who enjoys working collaboratively, is adaptable and takes pride in maintaining high standards while supporting students to develop their creativity and practical skills.

As part of The Wensum Trust, we believe that our shared duty is to help every child to develop into high achieving, confident, healthy, caring and resilient members of their family and community. We want our schools to be healthy environments where both children and staff can develop and where strong, positive relationships are key. Our school, therefore, practises a relational approach with children, our families and our communities. We are particularly interested in working with people who share Our Qualities; who will work effectively and flexibly as part of a team.

Our curriculum is sequenced to ensure that every student—from Key Stage 3 to 5 develops a sophisticated visual vocabulary and a high level of technical autonomy. We don't just teach students how to make; we teach them how to think, critique, and innovate.

At Hellesdon High School we are committed to evidence-informed classroom practice and a knowledge rich curriculum in every subject. We believe that empowering students with knowledge is the best way to help all our young people to become creative, well-rounded, successful life-long learners

Being a part of The Wensum Trust’s family of schools offers employees unique experiences to work alongside our strategic partners and to collaborate with a wider network of staff. We believe in investing in employees as individuals, by providing training opportunities that help to develop both existing and new skill sets, to encourage career progression at all levels.

We care about bringing together the most able people, to help us achieve our vision of providing a rounded education for children, quality support for their families and opportunities to enrich our communities.
