Music Teacher / Music Lead
About This Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic, skilled and inspiring Music Teacher / Music Lead to lead music across our school and build upon our established musical provision.
Music is an important part of life at St Michael’s. We are looking for a qualified teacher who can bring music to life for children from Nursery through to Year 6, providing high-quality, inclusive and engaging teaching while also leading our wider musical provision.
The successful candidate will teach music across the school, lead our Chamber Choir and Orchestra, support performances and school events, and coordinate our established programme of peripatetic instrumental tuition.
We are looking for someone who:
Has Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), strong musical knowledge and a passion for inspiring children through music.
Can deliver engaging and inclusive music teaching from Nursery to Year 6, with an understanding of both the EYFS framework and National Curriculum.
Can lead singing and instrumental ensembles and inspire children to perform.
Can lead and develop music as a subject across the school.
Can assess pupils’ musical development and use this to inform teaching and curriculum development.
Can coordinate and support our programme of visiting instrumental teachers.
Is organised, collaborative and committed to the safeguarding and flourishing of every child.
Is supportive of our Christian ethos and our values of Love, Serve, Grow.
The ability to play an instrument is essential; piano/keyboard ideally.
