About This Role

Teacher of Physics

Permanent; Full time

Commencing: September 2026

Closing date: 21 April 2026 at 12 noon

Haileybury is on the lookout for a skilled and enthusiastic teacher to become a part of our vibrant Physics Department.

We are in search of a committed and inspiring educator to motivate and challenge students from Lower School 1 (Year 7) through to the Upper Sixth.

At Haileybury, our goal is to equip our pupils with exceptional facilities for every aspect of their education. Science and technology classes are conducted in our new SciTech building, which features our prestigious, award-winning STEM research facilities. This state-of-the-art environment enables Haileybury to not only impart scientific knowledge but also to engage students in scientific endeavors through our research-oriented initiatives such as CubeSat, StanX, and Vex Robotics.

We foster independent thinking and learning, providing numerous opportunities for students to cultivate a genuine interest in science beyond the standard curriculum. The Physics Department’s Haileybury CubeSat Programme, developed in collaboration with BAE Systems, allows students from all year groups to design and build a CubeSat intended for launch into space, aiming to make them the first secondary school students in Europe to achieve this.

The ideal candidate will possess a degree in a relevant field and demonstrate confidence in teaching the subject at the A level; experience with the IB Diploma programme is preferred but not mandatory. A passion for promoting lifelong learning among students and the ability to extend their knowledge beyond the curriculum is essential.

Please refer to the candidate brief for additional details.
