About This Role

Windsor Forest Colleges group is looking for a Student Health and Medical Support Lead to join our Safeguarding and Wellbeing team on a full-time, permanent basis over 41 Term Time Only weeks.

The Student Health and Medical Support Lead is a full-time, term-time role (37 hours per week over 41 weeks) on Support Pay Scale L providing a salary between L34 £37,830.73 and L37 £40,655.89 (L34 £41,096 and L37 £44,165 FTE).

The Student Health and Medical Support Lead reports to the Group Director of Safeguarding and Wellbeing working across all college campuses. Core operational duties include administering prescribed medications, acting as the lead responder for on-site medical emergencies, managing return-to-study reintegration plans, and maintaining strict governance over medication storage, clinical audits, and confidential UK GDPR-compliant health records.

Strategically, the post-holder leads health policy compliance by aligning procedures with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE), the SEND Code of Practice, and the Equality Act 2010, while managing health-related safeguarding concerns and multi-agency partnerships with external NHS services. A primary mandate is staff development, where the Lead designs and delivers practical training on procedures such as insulin and buccal anti-convulsant administration, evaluating and signing off on individual staff competence. Essential qualifications include a recognised clinical or allied health qualification and First Aid at Work certification, with professional registration (NMC or HCPC) alongside Mental Health First Aid.
