Our school, developed by a passionate team of educators, engineers, and entrepreneurs, strives to prepare young minds for success in a rapidly changing world.Since the inception of our sister institution, Bloom KKCA Academy, in 2021, we have taken the lead in delivering bilingual, interdisciplinary, and project-based education, fostering partnerships across education, business, and social innovation. In 2024, we broadened our educational offerings to include a secondary campus, which provides Cambridge IGCSE and A-Level programs, along with a school-based Key Stage 3 curriculum. We have recently introduced two additional pathways—HKDSE and a US-accredited project-based option—to cater to a diverse learner population.We are currently on the lookout for educators who are passionate about language acquisition and the humanities, as well as dedicated to empowering students, to help us cultivate a dynamic and inclusive Chinese language and humanities curriculum for our emerging students.Position OverviewWe are seeking a motivated, dynamic, and proficient Secondary Chinese and Humanities Teacher. The ideal candidate will lead students in examining Chinese language and literature and the humanities, viewing these subjects not just as academic disciplines but also as avenues to explore their identities, the richness of Chinese culture, and the wider world. The individual will instruct students in Grades 7 through 12, addressing Key Stage 3, IGCSE, and A Level (CIE and Edexcel). A successful history of preparing senior students for external assessments is therefore a key requirement.Aligned with our objective to cultivate empathetic creators and social entrepreneurs, we are looking for educators who are enthusiastic about designing new curricula and adapting existing ones to integrate experiential learning, leverage technology, and apply innovative teaching strategies, including project-based learning.This position is ideal for educators who thrive in diverse classroom environments and collaborative settings. The ability to tailor instruction, support individual learners, and effectively teach Chinese and Humanities is essential.Person SpecificationEssential Qualifications & ExperienceBA in Chinese Language and/or Literature or related Humanities subjects.A recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, Teaching License).Minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experience in a classroom.Experience in preparing students for IGCSE Chinese exams, specifically for first (0509), second (0523), and foreign language (0547) papers. Familiarity with other curricula such as A-Level and IB is highly beneficial.Experience with HKDSE is an advantage.Strong English proficiency, both written and oral. Proficiency in Putonghua is essential, as our school functions bilingually.National Putonghua Proficiency Test Grade 2 Level B or higher.Ability to work collaboratively within a team and communicate with colleagues in English.Thorough understanding of Chinese culture, history, and customs, with the ability to weave cultural elements into lesson plans to enhance cultural appreciation.Experience in curriculum development and assessment design.A commitment to innovative education practices, including project-based learning.A satisfactory criminal background check.Preferred QualificationsAn advanced degree in education or Chinese language teaching.A commitment to residing in Hong Kong and contributing to the foundational phase of the school.Familiarity with educational technology.Dedication to ongoing professional development.A collaborative, positive, and inclusive approach.Experience in pastoral care or homeroom management.Experience working with students with diverse learning needs.Apply via the WhatSchool platform.
