About the School:

The Canadian School of Florence provides K-12 education for students aged 3 to 18. The lower primary campus (Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 3) is located in San Domenico, Fiesole, while the Upper Primary (Grades 4-6) and Middle School (Grades 7-8) campuses are conveniently situated in a nearby piazza. The Senior School (Grades 9-12) is located in a stunning historical building in Florence, less than 2 km from the Junior school.

All courses are taught in English (except for Italian and French) based on the Ontario curriculum, alongside preparation for the Italian national exams as a “paritaria” school. Our students aim to achieve the Ontario Secondary School Diploma, which is recognized by universities around the world. We also offer the Liceo delle Scienze Umane at our high school, allowing students to earn a dual diploma.

The Ontario curriculum combines the best of Canadian and International educational practices, aimed at fostering independent learning, collaboration, communication, and leadership skills. Our integrated approach seeks to develop well-rounded global citizens who can adapt to a constantly changing environment while nurturing essential life skills such as respect, responsibility, perseverance, collaboration, empathy, and integrity.

As an international school in Italy, we celebrate and embrace our diverse cultural backgrounds, creating an atmosphere where students can learn from one another and appreciate each other's differences. Our locations in Florence and Fiesole provide a stimulating and welcoming environment for work and a beautiful place to reside.

Outdoor Learning:

We believe every child deserves the chance to learn outside the classroom, and we regularly utilize the green spaces around us. Outdoor learning enhances students' personal, social, and practical skills while fostering an appreciation for nature.

Safeguarding Statement:

The Canadian School of Florence is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults, expecting all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We particularly encourage applications from underrepresented groups, including ethnicity, gender, transgender, age, disability, sexual orientation, or religion.

Successful candidates will undergo child protection screening, which includes thorough vetting, checks with previous employers, and relevant safeguarding assessments.
