About This Role
The Role
You will take on the responsibility of teaching computing across all grade levels within the school, collaborating on curriculum development, as well as preparing and delivering lessons and activities in line with the Academic Department's guidelines, ensuring compliance with King’s curriculum standards.
- You will oversee student behavior and cultivate a respectful classroom atmosphere.
- You will monitor student progress and assess their work.
- You will create reports and communicate with parents as needed.
- You will keep an accurate and organized attendance record for the class.
- You will supervise recess and lunch periods as directed.
Your dedication to student well-being will be essential:
- You will become a member of one of the School’s Houses, engaging in related activities.
- You will adhere to the school’s safeguarding policies and procedures.
- You will interact with the Senior Leadership Team and parents as necessary.
- You will responsibly carry out weekly boarding duties in line with the School’s policies and expectations.
You will contribute to the School’s extracurricular programs through various activities, clubs, and more, focusing on areas such as:
- sports
- arts
- academic enrichment
- outdoor activities
You will accept additional relevant responsibilities as assigned by the School’s Leadership Team, which may include:
- collaborating on marketing and admissions initiatives
- attending staff meetings and professional development workshops
- participating in school-wide events like Foundation Day
- serving on school committees
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is mandatory.
- A master’s degree from an international institution is preferred.
- Excellent command of English, with the capability to effectively deliver curriculum content in English.
- Strong coding skills are essential.
- Familiarity with CAIE IGCSE/A A-level curriculum requirements is a plus.
- Experience with an inquiry-based teaching approach is preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years of full-time teaching experience is required, preferably in international schools offering IGCSEs and A levels or the IB curriculum.
- Experience leading computer or coding clubs, after-school programs, and involvement in external competitions is advantageous.
- A team-oriented individual who engages actively in co-planning and curriculum development.
