Responsible to: Principal
As a Class Teacher, your duties will include:
•
Honoring and appreciating each child's social, cultural, and religious backgrounds, and by example, fostering an atmosphere of mutual respect and understanding.
•
Participating in the management of pastoral care, health, welfare, and behavior for all students, with particular attention to those in your assigned class.
•
Delivering lessons in alignment with the school's established policies and guidelines.
•
Employing a range of effective teaching and nurturing methods to facilitate high-quality learning experiences.
•
Providing planning documents that outline specific learning objectives, differentiated tasks, special needs accommodations, extensions, and assessments to the Principal or designated officer.
•
Engaging in professional conversations with colleagues about the students, maintaining confidentiality regarding all shared information.
•
Ensuring that equal opportunities are available to all students.
•
Encouraging students to take pride in their surroundings and to demonstrate respect and care for their peers, contributing to a supportive school community.
•
Overseeing all aspects of classroom management, including the organization and accessibility of resources, ensuring the classroom is tidy and well-maintained.
•
Creating a dynamic and engaging classroom environment that fosters independent learning.
•
Working with the Principal and staff to establish effective pupil assessment procedures and maintain moderation portfolios.
•
Keeping accurate records of each child's achievements and providing reports as needed.
•
Fostering strong relationships with the parents of the children in your care.
•
Guiding, motivating, and supervising classroom assistants in their roles.
As a Team Member, your responsibilities will include:
•
Collaborating with staff on long-term planning initiatives.
•
Taking collective responsibility for displays throughout the school.
•
Participating in the management and delivery of assemblies.
•
Offering and receiving advice on matters that impact the overall performance and ethos of the school.
•
Sharing your expertise with colleagues.
•
Engaging in appraisal processes and in-service training opportunities that support personal, professional, and career development.
Qualifications
•
A minimum of 2 to 5 years of relevant professional teaching experience in early childhood education.
•
Candidates should possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood or Education, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized University or College, requiring no less than 3 years of full-time study.
•
Teaching Certificates, Diplomas, or other Teacher Accreditation courses and certifications are necessary if the candidate’s degree is not in Education.
•
Training in IB PYP or IPC is highly valued.
•
Knowledge of or a willingness to learn about inquiry-based learning is essential.
•
Applicants must submit original copies of their Certificates and academic transcripts for verification.
•
International experience, particularly in Asia, is highly valued.
