Established in 2002, it became one of the founding members of the Dukes Education group in 2023. The school operates on a fully bilingual model, adhering to the UK's Early Years Foundation Stage framework for children aged 1-5, and subsequently following the English National Curriculum from Year 1/Key Stage 1 onward. In the secondary phase, students prepare for their British IGCSE examinations, which hold validation within the Spanish educational system. Additionally, students may opt to pursue the IB Diploma Programme during Key Stage 5, while also engaging with key components of the Spanish curriculum and having the option to work towards the Spanish Baccalaureate (Bachillerato). Employing over eighty staff members, Elian's ensures that all English subjects are taught by qualified, proficient speakers. A significant number of teachers choose to enroll their own children at the school, and tuition fees are waived for employees. The team also includes classroom assistants, a full-time IT technician, a school psychologist, a chef, and a nurse. Unlike many educational institutions in Spain, Elian's terms typically feature half-term breaks. For staff, the academic year generally commences in the last week of August and concludes in early July, alongside benefiting from Spain's generous public holiday schedule. Most staff receive year-round contracts, the majority being permanent, with salaries aligned with the convenio (a collective agreement between teaching unions and private institutions). The campus is purposefully designed, featuring multiple sports courts and pitches, a twenty-meter swimming pool, and spacious, landscaped gardens equipped with shaded areas, seating, and play equipment. The main building consists of both primary and secondary sections, connected to a bright reception area and library/resource center. Classrooms are equipped with interactive whiteboards and touchscreens, alongside specialized rooms for ICT, art, design and technology, and four science laboratories, as well as a fully equipped auditorium.
