Hanoi Toronto School stands out as a truly unique institution in Vietnam. Established in August 2022, it is the sole school in the country that provides international and integrated educational programs for both Primary and Secondary levels (Grades 1-12) based on the Ontario Curriculum from Canada. The Ontario Curriculum is widely adopted in Canada as it aims to enable every student to realize their full potential through a coherent, relevant, and age-appropriate learning framework. It acknowledges the necessity for students to become critically literate in order to synthesize information, make informed choices, communicate effectively, and succeed in an ever-evolving global landscape. Essential to this curriculum is the connection students feel to the material, seeing themselves reflected in what is taught, how it is delivered, and its applicability to the broader world. It also addresses the diverse needs of learners, equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and perspectives to become informed, productive, caring, responsible, and engaged citizens both locally and globally. Ontario's curriculum development framework encompasses structured resources and achievement standards for both primary and secondary education. This curriculum undergoes periodic revisions based on input from curriculum developers, parents, educators, and other stakeholders. The Ontario Ministry of Education provides instructional guidelines and assessment rubrics that correspond with the curriculum by grade and subject, facilitating teachers in aligning their activities and evaluations with curriculum goals. At HTS, this curriculum, comparable to other leading global educational frameworks, is tailored to fit the international and Vietnamese context. International Schools Partnership (ISP) HTS is associated with the International Schools Partnership (ISP), which is one of the largest international educational networks, encompassing over 90 schools in more than 20 countries. Both students and staff gain from being part of the ISP community through active engagement in diverse global learning experiences. ISP prioritizes the professional development of its educators through its Learning First initiative. Additionally, HTS has a sister institution in Ontario, Lynn-Rose, a distinguished private IB world school, also a member of the International Schools Partnership. Collaboration with Lynn-Rose College presents our students with the chance to earn the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) and potentially study in Canada through exchange or transfer opportunities.
