View Full School Profile & VacanciesAbout the Role We are looking for a committed Learning Support Assistant to join our team and make a significant impact on the lives of students needing one-on-one support. This opportunity allows you to assist young individuals in overcoming learning barriers, boosting their confidence, and realizing their potential.
You will deliver tailored support to students facing various social, emotional, and educational challenges. This may include assisting students with speech and sound disorders, difficulties in expressive language, delayed comprehension of language, issues with concentration, and avoidance of tasks.
While the primary focus is on education, this role also entails supporting families, caregivers, and the broader community, collaborating closely with professionals like Social Workers, Speech and Language Therapists, Educational Psychologists, and Early Intervention Teams. Some duties may extend beyond the classroom setting.
You will play a crucial role in the school’s commitment to fostering the learning, personal growth, and well-being of all students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the safety, welfare, and wellbeing of students
- Adhere to professional standards, statutory obligations, and school policies
- Assist with the daily organization and administration within the school
- Take charge of designated areas of work, with annual reviews through performance management
- Positively contribute to the school’s improvement initiatives
- Assume additional responsibilities as needed
Who We’re Looking For
We are in search of an individual who is patient, resilient, and truly passionate about supporting young people:
- Prior experience in a SEND school or a specialized environment
- Grade C (or equivalent) in English and Maths
- A calm, consistent, and nurturing demeanor
- A strong team player with outstanding communication abilities
- A genuine dedication to helping students overcome obstacles and thrive
