Welfare Assistant

Hawes Side Primary Academy is looking for a caring, enthusiastic and reliable Welfare Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team.

The successful candidate will help support the health, safety and wellbeing of our pupils throughout the school day. This is an important role requiring someone who is approachable, patient and confident when caring for children.

Main Duties

• Supporting pupils with their health and welfare needs.
• Providing basic first aid and caring for children who become unwell.
• Recording accidents, illnesses and welfare concerns accurately.
• Communicating with parents/carers and members of staff when required.
• Supporting pupils’ emotional wellbeing and promoting a safe and positive environment.
• Following the Academy’s safeguarding, confidentiality and health and safety procedures.

We are looking for someone who is caring, calm and organised, with excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children. You should be able to work well as part of a team and handle sensitive situations professionally and confidentially.

Previous experience working with children in a school, childcare, welfare or similar environment would be desirable.

This position is working 10 hours per week.
