The School

Cheltenham Muscat, which welcomed its first students in September 2021, is the first premium British school in Oman for learners aged 3 to 18. The Person

We are in search of a dedicated educator who is not only enthusiastic about their subject but also motivated to inspire our exceptional students. The successful candidate will hold high expectations for themselves and their students, nurturing a constructive environment and fostering strong relationships within our school community.

Please note that candidates must have at least three full years of relevant teaching experience to be eligible for a work permit in Oman.

Curriculum Development, Planning, and Review

• Develop a thorough and detailed scheme of work that outlines topics and clear aims and objectives.

• Complete long-term, medium-term, and short-term planning in alignment with the School’s curriculum policy.

• Collaborate with senior leaders to deliver a challenging academic curriculum.

• Look for opportunities to integrate cross-curricular activities, such as joint educational trips or project work, and incorporate Project Earthlings objectives where applicable.

Teaching and Learning

• Provide a comprehensive, balanced, and relevant curriculum.

• Facilitate high-quality learning, enabling students to realize their potential.

• Deliver engaging, well-structured, and creative lessons that cater to the needs of all students.

• Ensure that lessons in the department are suitably differentiated, employing strategies that allow every student to engage with learning and excel.

• Exhibit exceptional subject knowledge.

• Set ambitious targets for students and utilize a variety of strategies, resources, and technologies to help them achieve those targets.

• Assist the pastoral team in the role of Form Tutor.

Assessment

• Follow school procedures for assessing, recording, and reporting on student achievements, effectively using this information for progress reports.

• Provide students with consistent written and verbal feedback, encouraging them to reflect on and respond to their feedback.

• Analyze all academic data collected to inform curriculum adjustments and ensure personalized learning for each student.

• Plan and implement intervention strategies for students identified as underperforming.

School and Subject Promotion

• Actively engage in the CHM co-curricular and school activity programs.

• Participate in specific marketing events such as Open Days, as directed by the Principal.

Professional Standards

• Attend assemblies, parents’ evenings, school functions, and other staff meetings as directed by the Senior Leadership Team.
