The successful candidate will bring a strengths-based, student-centered approach and a commitment to inclusive practice within an international school context.

Core Purpose

The Speech and Language Therapist provides assessment, therapy, and consultative support to students with speech, language, communication, and social communication needs. This role is three days a week, almost entirely allocated to a Life Centered Education/Intensive Needs Program. A key part of the role will be developing the program in collaboration with the Life Centered Education Teacher, and providing therapeutic services to students, while shaping a therapeutic environment for the classroom. The role focuses on reducing barriers to learning, fostering student independence, and strengthening whole-school inclusive practices through collaboration, intervention, and capacity-building.

  • Support the use of assistive and augmentative communication strategies when needed.

Individualized Planning & Progress Monitoring

  • Contribute to the development and review of Individualized Learning Plans (ILPs), IEPs, or equivalent support plans with clear, measurable goals.

  • Monitor student progress and adjust interventions based on data and observation.

  • Prepare written progress updates and reports for families and the student support team.

Collaboration & Consultation

  • Work closely with the SENCO as part of a coordinated Student Support Team.

  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to support inclusive practices and communication-rich learning environments.

  • Provide guidance and strategies to teachers and assistants to support students’ communication needs within classrooms.

  • Participate in student support, team, and parent meetings as required.

Program Development & Whole-School Support

  • Contribute to the development of Bellver College’s speech and language provision and inclusive support systems.

  • Review student applications and contribute professional insight regarding communication needs when appropriate.

  • Support documentation, data collection, and systems related to student support services.

  • Manage resources and operate within agreed budgets related to therapy provision.

Professional Practice & Safeguarding

  • Maintain accurate, confidential student records in line with school policies.

  • Uphold safeguarding and child protection policies at all times.

  • Engage in ongoing professional learning and reflective practice.

  • Demonstrate commitment to Bellver College’s mission, values, and inclusive culture.
