About This Role

As an apprentice, you will work alongside experienced teachers and support staff to help pupils access learning, develop confidence and achieve their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with Special Educational Needs both individually and in small groups.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging learning activities.
  • Encourage pupils' social, emotional and academic development.
  • Help create a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support children with communication, behavioural or learning needs.
  • Assist with preparing classroom resources and learning materials.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school community.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be passionate about supporting children and young people.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be patient, caring, reliable and enthusiastic.
  • Be willing to learn and develop new skills through training and mentoring.
  • Be able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Have a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Hold GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths at Grade 4/C or above, or be willing to work towards achieving these qualifications where required.
