Lead Science Teacher for Central Quadrant

We are seeking an exceptional Science practitioner to join the Harris Federation Secondary Central Quadrant as a Lead Science Teacher, working across our academies as required, with an initial deployment at Harris Academy Battersea and Harris Academy Peckham.

This is a unique opportunity for an outstanding teacher to work across multiple settings, broaden their leadership experience, and have a significant impact on teaching, learning and student outcomes. The successful candidate will be an exemplary classroom practitioner with a proven track record of securing excellent outcomes for students. They will demonstrate a deep understanding of effective Science pedagogy and a commitment to raising standards for all learners.

In this role, you will be accountable for the progress and achievement of the students you teach while also contributing to the professional development of colleagues through coaching, modelling best practice, and supporting the delivery of high-quality teaching across the academies.

We would like to hear if you have:

• QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree
• At least three years' teaching experience
• At least two years in a management role.
• Experience of teaching Science to A-Level
• Clear evidence of having raised standards of achievement at all levels
• Successful experience of curriculum development
• Experience in observing and evaluating teacher quality, and providing feedback
• Experience of setting specific targets and managing improvement across a Key Stage or more widely
• Successful experience in a multi-ethnic inner city school
• Evidence of being an excellent teacher
• Strong knowledge of the national curriculum programme of study for the subject and of current subject developments
