Healthy Active Learning Advisor - Whakatāne

Are you passionate about promoting active, healthy lifestyles for tamariki through education and physical activity? Sport Bay of Plenty is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a healthy active learning advisor based in Whakatāne.

Working alongside another healthy active learning advisor, you will work into 16 primary and intermediate schools across the Eastern Bay of Plenty to provide support to schools and kura to understand the value of the health and physical education curriculum as well as advocating for quality school and community play, sport and physical activities outside curriculum time. You will work closely with principals, senior leaders and teachers of primary and intermediate schools and kura to provide advice and customised support. 

The successful candidate will:

• Hold a relevant tertiary qualification, in education, preferably in health and education or have;
• Experience in classroom teaching in primary, intermediate or secondary schools; and
• Experience in designing and facilitating professional learning and development opportunities for Kaiako
