About This Role

Northview International School (NVIS) is seeking a passionate and student-centered EAL Teacher to join our growing international faculty in Doha, Qatar.

We are looking for an educator engaging students in meaningful language-learning experiences while fostering strong communication skills, cultural awareness, and confidence in English. The successful candidate will support multilingual learners in developing their reading, and writing, enabling them to access the wider curriculum and participate fully in school life .

The Role

The successful candidate will teach English as Additional Language across school grade levels, delivering engaging lessons aligned with the American curriculum framework and supporting multilingual learners in developing the language skills. needed to access the wider curriculum.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging EAL lessons aligned with the American curriculum

  • Supporting students in developing their reading, writing and speaking skills in English.

  • Using student-centred instructional practices that encourage communication, collaboration and language development.

  • Integrating technology and diverse resources to support active learning

  • Assessing and monitoring student progress through formative and summative assessment

  • Creating an inclusive classroom environment where students feel supported and challenged

  • Collaborating with colleagues to strengthen curriculum development and instructional practices

  • Contributing to the wider life of the school through extracurricular activities and community engagement

Qualifications and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree in English, Linguistics, or a related field

  • A recognized teaching qualification (PGCE, B.Ed., or equivalent)

  • Experience teaching English as an Additional Language.

  • Experience with or training in an American curriculum framework

  • A commitment to student-centered learning and inquiry-based instruction

  • Strong classroom management and communication skills

Experience in an international school setting is desirable but not essential.
