Centre Manager

We are a community-based centre governed by a trust which has a team-based approach to early learning with the child at the heart of the matter. Our centre is embedded in our community, and we have a team of long serving and committed staff members who value relationships, tikanga and play. We have a unique outdoor environment and spend a lot of time in our extensive outdoor setting. We are also committed to supporting teachers who would like to become qualified.

We are looking for a motivated leader who is: 

• a champion for high-quality early childhood education
• a current or aspiring leader, motivated to grow their leadership capability and bring others with them.
• community-oriented, building warm, respectful relationships with whānau, staff, tamariki, and the wider community
• a clear, confident communicator, able to engage effectively with all stakeholders
• strongly committed to upholding Te Tiriti o Waitangi, embedding bicultural practice in everyday centre life
• values-driven and emotionally intelligent, leading with empathy, integrity, and self-awareness
• resilient and solutions-focused
• organised and dependable, with the ability to balance people leadership, compliance, and operational responsibilities
• collaborative and empowering 
• reflective and improvement minded.

Preference will be given to applicants who have proven leadership experience in a New Zealand education setting.

Our centre can offer:

• Employment in the heart of a beautiful Ruapehu community with a supportive trust and team.
• Salary range between $74,360 and $83,740 based on the experience and qualifications of the successful applicant.
• Support from the previous manager (if required) during a transitional period.
