The role

We are looking for a talented, imaginative and enthusiastic teacher to join our Key Stage 2 team and take responsibility for a Year 5 class. As well as creating effective, enjoyable learning environments, you will foster the social and emotional growth of our pupils – delivering high-quality teaching with warmth and challenge in a safe, engaging classroom.

We particularly welcome applications from Early Career Teachers – you'll be fully supported by a designated mentor and our ECT induction programme from day one.

This post is fixed-term, reflecting current pupil numbers on roll, and will be reviewed ahead of the 2027–28 academic year.

What we're looking for

You will be a values-driven, committed and resilient teacher, organised and effective, with a determination to make a difference. Specifically, we're looking for:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), with a degree-level qualification
• Recent experience teaching in Key Stage 2, including a successful KS2 placement during initial teacher training for ECTs
• The ability to plan and teach well-structured, well-adapted lessons that engage and challenge every pupil
• Strong knowledge of assessment for learning, and confident behaviour management
• The ability to safeguard and promote pupils' welfare, with emotional resilience in working with challenging behaviour
• Excellent communication skills, with children, colleagues and parents alike
• A collaborative, team-first approach and a commitment to your own professional development
