Term: Full time, permanent

Overview of the school

Marylebone Boys' School was established in September 2014 as a free school and currently serves 600 boys in Years 7-11. In 2019, we introduced our co-educational Sixth Form, which will eventually accommodate around 840 students.

In February 2026, we became part of United Learning Trust and are set to transition to a co-educational academy in September 2027. From September 1, 2026, we will be known as Marylebone Academy (MA).

United Learning comprises a network of schools dedicated to providing exceptional education that enables all students to progress, achieve, and succeed in their future endeavors.

Our mission is grounded in a strong moral compass, a commitment to doing what is right for our students, supporting our colleagues in achieving excellence, and acting with integrity in all interactions within and outside the organization, always prioritizing the welfare of children and young people. We encapsulate this philosophy in the phrase ‘the best in everyone.’

Marylebone Academy is situated in an urban setting and currently serves a student body with 50% Pupil Premium eligibility. We are committed to academic rigor, promoting excellent behavior, ensuring disruption-free learning, and delivering outstanding teaching, where knowledge is accessible to all who are willing to strive for it. We maintain high expectations for every student, providing additional support to those who require it to help them realize their full potential.

Located at the vibrant Paddington Basin, developed by Westminster City Council, our school is conveniently near Paddington Station, benefiting from the Elizabeth line as well as existing Underground and National Rail services. With two campuses (secondary and sixth form) on North Wharf Road, we represent a modern, dynamic inner-city secondary school.

Alongside our strong academic emphasis, we prioritize personal development and support our students' aspirations. Our staff are deeply invested in the well-being of our pupils and are determined to provide them with the highest quality educational experience. Our students are eager learners who actively participate in the wide array of opportunities offered to them.

The ideal candidate will be passionate, innovative, and skilled, possessing the ability to lead and motivate others. They will exemplify best practices in the classroom and in all interactions with parents, Governors, colleagues, and students. The new team member will contribute to securing exceptional learning experiences, ensuring that every student receives an outstanding education.

United Learning is dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and young people and expects all employees and volunteers to share this commitment. All positions are subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring check from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), and shortlisted candidates will undergo an online check.
