We invite you to apply for the position of Site Supervisor, where you will play a vital role in ensuring that our buildings and grounds are secure, clean, and thoroughly maintained. This position is essential for maintaining safety standards, identifying potential hazards, and ensuring the school site remains suitable for our whole community.
Working pattern: 37 hours per week on a rotating shift pattern: 06:30–14:30 (Fri 06:30-14:00) or 10:30–18:30 (Fri 11:00–18:30).

We are an 11-16 academy located in the coastal town of Redcar in the northeast, near Middlesbrough.

Responsibilities
The Site Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that the buildings and grounds are secure, clean, and well-maintained, performing daily tasks in accordance with health and safety regulations. Key duties include opening and closing the premises, managing lettings, and inspecting for damage or security concerns each morning upon arrival. The role encompasses a variety of general maintenance tasks, such as cleaning (including glass and communal areas), general porterage, moving furniture, and grounds upkeep, which includes sweeping yards and removing moss and other hazards from hard surfaces.
The supervisor will carry out minor repairs to fixtures and fittings, report significant defects to the Facilities Manager, and manage routine heating and lighting tasks, such as replacing fluorescent tubes up to eleven feet.
Qualifications
Candidates must have demonstrated experience in general building and site maintenance and possess the skills to conduct basic repairs. Strong time management and organizational abilities are essential, along with effective communication skills to engage with a diverse range of audiences. A solid understanding of child safeguarding procedures in an academy setting and the capacity to interact with students in a friendly manner are required.
While not mandatory, experience in a school environment is advantageous. Applicants should be willing to obtain and/or enhance qualifications and training and must have the ability to use standard ICT software, including Microsoft Office. A satisfactory DBS check is required.
