In 2024, we launched our secondary campus, where we provide Cambridge IGCSE and A-Level programs along with a school-based Key Stage 3 curriculum. Additionally, we have introduced two new educational pathways—the HKDSE and a US-accredited project-based pathway—to meet the diverse needs of our learners.We are currently on the lookout for passionate educators with a focus on Chinese Humanities and student empowerment to help us create a dynamic and inclusive Chinese Humanities program for our students.Position OverviewWe are seeking a motivated and proficient Secondary Chinese Humanities Teacher. The ideal candidate will guide students in understanding Chinese language, literature, and humanities not just as academic subjects, but as avenues for exploring their identity, Chinese culture, and the larger world.The selected candidate will teach students from Grade 7 to 12, encompassing Key Stage 3, IGCSE, and A Level (CIE and Edexcel). A robust background in preparing senior students for external exams is a must.Our vision of nurturing compassionate creators and social entrepreneurs extends beyond traditional curricula, so we are looking for educators keen to innovate and enhance existing curricula by integrating experiential learning and utilizing technology, as well as adopting modern teaching approaches such as project-based learning.Given our diverse learner population, this position is perfect for educators who thrive in inclusive classrooms and collaborative settings. The ability to differentiate instruction, support individual learners, and teach Chinese Humanities is essential.Person SpecificationEssential Qualifications & ExperienceBA in a humanities field or Chinese literature.Valid teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, Teaching License).A minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experience in a classroom or similar environment.Proven experience in preparing students for IGCSE and A-Level examinations; familiarity with other curricula, such as AP and IB, is a distinct advantage.Experience with HKDSE is a plus.Proficient in English with strong written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in Putonghua is required due to our bilingual setting.National Putonghua Proficiency Test Grade 2 Level B or higher.Ability to work collaboratively within a team and communicate effectively with colleagues in English.Deep understanding of Chinese culture, history, and customs, with the capacity to incorporate cultural aspects into lesson plans to enhance cultural awareness.Experience in curriculum development and assessment design.Commitment to innovative, forward-thinking education, including project-based learning.Successful completion of a criminal background check.Preferred QualificationsAdvanced degree in education or in teaching a humanities subject.Willingness to remain in Hong Kong to support the initial development stage of the school.Strong familiarity with educational technology.Commitment to ongoing professional development.Positive, collaborative, and inclusive mindset.Experience in pastoral care or homeroom management.Background in working with students with diverse learning needs.Motivated by the opportunity for professional growth and career advancement that comes with being part of our team.Apply via the WhatSchool platform.
