Science Teacher/Head of Science
About This Role
Founded in 2000, Doha Academy comprises three schools that deliver a British-based and Qatar national curriculum for students from Kindergarten through Grade 13. The Academy's mission is to cultivate outward-looking, lifelong learners through a comprehensive educational framework that respects and integrates local cultural values and traditions.
As a forward-thinking organization governed by Al Faleh Educational Holding, which also includes AFG College in partnership with the University of Aberdeen, Doha Academy offers staff exceptional opportunities for career advancement. We seek individuals who are ambitious, innovative, and prioritize student-centered approaches in their teaching.
As we grow, we are eager to connect with qualified and experienced educators who view teaching as a calling. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in their teaching subject along with a recognized initial teacher training qualification. We encourage early applications.
The school holds accreditations from both Cambridge International and Pearson Edexcel, with all three sciences adhering to Pearson Edexcel courses at Key Stages 4 and 5. Our GCSE results for 2024 were particularly impressive, showcasing outstanding grades 7-9 across both sciences. We are equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories and have laboratory assistants as part of our team.
This position offers potential leadership opportunities within the department, so aspiring heads of department are encouraged to highlight this in their applications.
Joining the Academy at this time is exciting, as we achieved full Qatar National Schools’ Accreditation (QNSA) in early 2022 and received full international accreditation from the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) in November 2022. We have also embarked on our premier “ACE Learning” pathway.
Interviews can be conducted either in-person in Doha or virtually for international candidates.
Our school is dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and we expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
