About the Role We are seeking an innovative and creative MYP Design Teacher with a strong focus on Digital Design (which includes computer science, robotics, coding, and electronics) to join our international school community in Luxembourg.

This position is ideal for an educator who believes that digital tools and technologies can empower students to become creative problem-solvers and thoughtful designers. While the primary focus will be on Digital Design, experience in Product Design is also valued as part of the comprehensive IB MYP Design curriculum. Familiarity with core computer science principles, such as programming basics, networking, cybersecurity, digital safety, privacy, and data protection would be a plus.

At our school, inquiry, curiosity, and hands-on experimentation drive learning. We are looking for a teacher who enjoys guiding students through the design cycle, helping them with prototyping, testing, iterating, and reflecting while building essential design and technological skills.

What You'll Do
As our MYP Design Teacher, you will guide students in developing the confidence and skills necessary to design, create, and innovate with digital technologies, while also understanding the broader design process.
● Create inquiry-based and project-based learning experiences that connect digital technologies with real-world design challenges.
● Teach IB MYP Design, with a particular emphasis on Digital Design, encompassing digital creation, design software, and technology-driven problem-solving.
● Design engaging digital design projects where students create innovative digital solutions to real-life issues.
● Integrate Product Design experiences (including woodworking, CAD, laser cutting, and 3D printing) to help students understand prototyping, materials, and the physical design process.
● Support students in developing strong skills in design thinking and computational thinking, including procedural, logical, concurrent, abstract, and recursive reasoning.
● Differentiate instruction to ensure all students can access and excel in the curriculum, including English Language Learners.
● Use a Learning Management System to organize course materials, promote collaboration, and engage students.
● Collaborate with colleagues to develop meaningful learning experiences and share best practices.
● Contribute to the welfare and pastoral care of the school by serving as a student advisor.
● Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where every learner feels appreciated and supported.
● Utilize continuous assessment and feedback to foster student growth.
● Actively engage in the school community—from parent evenings to community events to leading extracurricular activities.
● Participate in professional development and bring new ideas into the classroom.
● Effectively integrate AI in guiding students by adopting a human-centered approach, promoting ethical principles and responsible usage, and equipping students with the knowledge and skills to create and use AI to enhance their learning.

We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds, especially those whose nationality, identity, gender, or race is underrepresented in international education.

We are committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children and young people and expect all staff to uphold this commitment.

Profile: (training, experience, skills, and aptitudes necessary for the role)
● Minimum of two years of successful teaching experience, ideally within the IB MYP framework.
● Extensive experience in teaching Digital Design, including creative digital tools, digital production, or computational design.
● Experience teaching fundamental computer science concepts is advantageous.
● Experience integrating Product Design projects or physical prototyping into the curriculum is a plus.
● A strong passion for inquiry-based, concept-driven, and project-based learning.
● Confidence in incorporating technology-supported learning into the classroom.
● Ability to demonstrate AI Literacy skills: understanding AI principles, exploring AI applications, directing AI effectively, evaluating AI outputs, and using AI responsibly.
● Experience supporting diverse learners, including those learning English as an additional language.
● A collaborative mindset and enjoyment of working within a professional learning community.
● A strong commitment to student wellbeing and holistic development.
● Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Design, Technology, Engineering, or a related field (Master's preferred).
● Valid teaching qualification or certification required.
● Fluency in English (near-native level).
● Experience in an international school setting is beneficial.
