About This Role

- Uphold and promote the principles and standards of excellence as outlined in the GEMS Core Values.
- Implement the designated curriculum, demonstrating thorough and current knowledge in both curriculum and subject matter.
- Design and deliver engaging lessons that inspire students, utilizing appropriate materials and classroom settings to accommodate diverse learning styles.
- Provide written documentation of planning and preparation upon request. Maintain comprehensive records of curriculum and year plans, attendance, teaching resources, assessment strategies, and more.
- Adhere to GEMS policies, procedures, and codes of conduct consistently.
- Instruct students according to their unique needs, employing suitable teaching methods that address various student abilities, including late entrants, ESL learners, those with lower academic performance, and gifted students.
- Assign and evaluate coursework. Assess, document, and report on students' academic growth, progress, and achievements, using these assessments to tailor the curriculum to individual needs.
- Demonstrate proficiency in integrating media and technology within the classroom.
- Support the overall progress and well-being of students, offering guidance on educational matters.
- Engage with external stakeholders when necessary (e.g., officials from the Ministry of Education).
- Take part in appraisal and Performance Management processes, as well as Continuing Professional Development (CPD) opportunities.
- Collaborate with colleagues in the preparation and development of teaching materials, resources, courses of study, and pastoral care arrangements.
- Participate in, and lead when appropriate, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities within the school. Foster good working relationships through proactive leadership and sharing of ideas, materials, and experiences.
- Oversee and promote safe and appropriate student behavior. Develop and implement strategies to encourage self-discipline and manage disruptive conduct.
- Exemplify and foster cultural awareness and understanding while nurturing a passion for learning.
- Assist in organizing and planning school events and activities (e.g., inter-house competitions, concerts, plays, prize days, etc.).
- Regularly communicate with and meet parents, promoting the GEMS philosophy and core values while keeping them updated on their children's progress, ensuring the confidentiality of student information is respected.
- Demonstrate initiative and dedication beyond the standard working hours when tasks require additional effort.
- Attend staff meetings and participate in committees as needed.
- Fulfill other responsibilities as assigned by direct and indirect supervisors or managers.

Compensation

£35,000 - £55,000 (Tax-Free Equivalent)
*Estimated range based on regional data averages.
