Lead Teaching Assistant : Nest Room Lead
About This Role
We are looking to recruit an experienced teaching assistant to be a lead TA with day -to-day responsibility for ‘the nest’. The nest is one of the rooms in our inclusion base. We operate an informal room, a semi formal room and one which sits between the two. The nest is our least formal set up, where pupils are working on the engagement model to develop their foundational knowledge and communication skills. Most of the children in the nest have a diagnosis of autism and are developing their early language skills.
In this role, you will be a consistent figure in the nest, managing the room, delivering sessions and developing the provision, under the guidance of our inclusion base lead teacher.

Our inclusion base has developed over the last year or so to meet the needs of our pupils in mainstream, we have seen children make incredible progress due to the love and care they have been given.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for colleagues who will be able to support our children to achieve their best, by nurturing them. You’ll have great ideas about the environment, provision and sessions, and will work closely with the teacher to plan and deliver them.
You will need to see behaviour as a form of communication, and understand that for some of the children you are working with, it is an indicator of more support being needed. Where children have barriers to verbal communication, they will communicate in other ways.
We are particularly interested to hear from colleagues with experience in the early years, and/or specialist settings.
When does the role start?
The start-date for the role is as soon as you can start, once all of our safer recruitment processes have been followed.
