Teacher of Science and Maths

We are in search of an enthusiastic, inspiring, and resilient secondary teacher with a demonstrated history of achieving exceptional academic results. The role involves teaching Key Stage 3, 4, and 5 to motivated students of varying abilities. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in assessing student progress, demonstrate excellent literacy and numeracy capabilities, and actively engage in our school community.

Essential:

  • A degree from a British University (B.Ed, BA Hons with QTS, or PGCE);
  • Native-level proficiency in English;
  • At least 1 year of teaching experience in a Secondary school;
  • Experience ideally teaching the National Curriculum in England/Wales (candidates with experience in the Scottish or Northern Irish curriculum are also encouraged to apply);
  • Strong subject knowledge with a dynamic and creative teaching approach that motivates all learners;
  • High expectations for students' learning and behavior;
  • Experience and/or knowledge in providing pastoral care.

Desirable:

  • Evidence of recent relevant professional development (including current knowledge in AfL, EAL, ICT, literacy/numeracy across the curriculum, classroom motivation, and effective differentiation methods);
  • Recent teaching experience with students in Key Stages 3 to 5;
  • Experience teaching second language learners.

Our school

This academic year, our secondary school has expanded, now welcoming over 300 students across Years 7-13. In Key Stage 3, students engage with the British National Curriculum, advancing to International GCSEs and ultimately gaining access to universities worldwide through the completion of 4 A Levels.

Our curriculum adheres to British standards while also integrating essential elements of the Spanish curriculum for a comprehensive educational experience. We are affiliated with NABSS (National Association of British Schools in Spain) and BSO (British Schools Overseas). Contracts are permanent, with teachers working from September to June, enjoying an extended summer break in July and August.
