Salary: MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance (pro rata)
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SENDCo (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator) to join SLT in our friendly and inclusive primary school. This is a non-teaching role, working 2 days per week, focused on leading, managing and developing high-quality SEND provision across the school.
You will play a key role in ensuring that pupils with SEND receive the support they need to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage whole school SEND provision in line with the SEND Code of Practice
- Identify, assess and monitor pupils with SEND
- Coordinate and evaluate interventions to ensure impact
- Work closely with staff to support high-quality inclusive teaching
- Liaise with parents/carers, external agencies and the Local Authority
- Ensure statutory processes (including EHCPs and reviews) are met
- Maintain accurate SEND records and contribute to school improvement planning
- Provide training and guidance for staff to support inclusive practice
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- National Award for SEN Coordination
- Proven experience working with pupils with a range of SEND needs
- Strong organisational, communication and leadership skills
- A commitment to inclusion and improving outcomes for all learners
- The ability to work collaboratively with staff, families and external professionals
