Purpose

The role involves delivering coding lessons that encompass both basic and advanced concepts of computer programming, fostering skills such as logical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving to inspire students toward achieving optimal outcomes.

Teaching and Learning

  • Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of the Curriculum to effectively implement coding lessons and programs tailored to desired learning outcomes.
  • Develop lesson plans and teach using suitable syllabi, instructional methods, resources, and technology to enhance coding skills among students.
  • Organize classroom resources and create displays that promote a positive and engaging learning atmosphere.
  • Design, prepare, and deliver sessions that accommodate the diverse ability levels of the class.
  • Consistently plan long, medium, and short-term lessons to meet individual learning requirements.
  • Establish a learning environment conducive to outstanding educational practices.
  • Engage students by providing enjoyable and creative coding lessons that challenge them while enhancing problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Monitor and assess students in accordance with school assessment policies.
  • Reflect on classroom provisions, teaching sessions, and student progress, adjusting planning and curriculum as necessary.
  • Support SEN (POD), EAL, and G&T students, ensuring their needs are met through differentiated instruction.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, such as speech and language therapists and educational psychologists, when necessary to cater to the diverse learning needs of students.
  • Conduct Hybrid / Distance Learning / Face-to-Face lessons as required.

Assessment and Data

  • Take responsibility for the academic progress of a class.
  • Comply with assessment requirements and record student development using Target Tracker.
  • Utilize assessment data to inform future planning and interventions.
  • Provide feedback to parents and guardians regarding student progress during Parent Teacher Conferences and other meetings.

Behaviour Management and Duties

  • Adhere to the school's behaviour policy.
  • Manage classrooms effectively, employing strategies suited to students’ needs to inspire and challenge them.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, exercising appropriate authority and decisiveness in line with the school’s behaviour policy.
  • Serve as a positive role model, consistently demonstrating the attitudes, values, and behaviours expected of students.
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour, promoting self-control and independence among all learners.
  • Execute duties as directed in accordance with the school’s policies.
