About This Role

The role will primarily be based at Christ Church Academy; however, there will also be opportunities to support within The Key Educational Trust, working collaboratively with colleagues across the Trust to further develop and strengthen SEND provision and provide a consistent strategic outlook.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional who is passionate about supporting pupils with special educational needs and disabilities to achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting inclusive practice, working closely with staff, parents and external agencies to ensure that all pupils receive the support they need to succeed both academically and socially.

We are looking for someone who is dedicated, organised and collaborative, with a strong commitment to improving outcomes for children with additional needs. The successful candidate will join a supportive staff team and will have access to ongoing professional development and training opportunities.

As part of your work at the Academy and wider Trust, you will be required to teach, however, the hours taught will reflect the nature of the SENCO position and all that it entails.

You will need to be:

∙ a dynamic and proactive practitioner with high expectations for all pupils, particularly those with special educational needs and disabilities,

∙ passionate about inclusive education, with the ability to support, inspire and motivate pupils to achieve their full potential,

∙ committed to ensuring that no child is left behind, demonstrating dedication and a willingness to go the extra mile to secure the best outcomes for every pupil,

∙ a collaborative professional who can work effectively with staff, parents, external agencies and the wider school community,

∙ someone who can support and promote the Christian ethos and values of our school.

In return we can offer you:

∙ a supportive, forward-thinking and well-resourced school environment with a strong commitment to inclusive practice and SEND provision,

∙ highly motivated and engaged pupils who display positive attitudes to learning,

∙ a caring and supportive staff team who prioritise the wellbeing and professional growth of all colleagues,

∙ a comprehensive induction programme and ongoing opportunities for professional development, including support towards the SENCO qualification where appropriate.

The Academy and the Trust are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The school follows safer recruitment practices, and the successful applicants will be subject to all necessary pre-employment checks including an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check. Our Safeguarding Policy is available on our website, and we encourage applicants to review it before applying.
