This role extends beyond teaching grammar and vocabulary; you will elevate French into a vibrant language that encourages discussions on global issues, idea generation, cross-cultural cooperation, and the development of personal confidence.In this role, you will create a progressive French curriculum spanning lower secondary through iGCSE and beyond, ensuring alignment with British curriculum outcomes, IB-style inquiry methods, and KHDA quality standards for teaching, learning, and assessment.Key Responsibilities:Curriculum Design & InnovationCollaborate to design and implement an engaging, comprehensive French curriculum that adheres to iGCSE standards and complements Citizens’ entrepreneurial framework.Focus on the enhancement of listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills, particularly emphasizing oracy and authentic communication.Integrate cultural, social, and global contexts that reflect UAE values and promote international awareness.Customize learning experiences to meet diverse needs, working closely with the Inclusion team to ensure accessibility for all students.Create meaningful assessments to track progress, provide constructive feedback, and inform interventions.Inquiry-Based Language LearningImplement inquiry-driven approaches that enable students to use French to ask questions, explore various perspectives, and address challenges.Transition the emphasis from basic language acquisition to significant communication, debate, storytelling, negotiation, and persuasion.Project-Based & Transdisciplinary LearningLead and participate in transdisciplinary projects that link French with subjects such as business, sustainability, humanities, and global citizenship.Aid learners in utilizing French in real-world contexts: enterprise projects, cultural exchanges, media initiatives, and performances.Personalized Learner ExperienceExemplify the Citizens principle of “Everyone known and known well.”Build strong relationships that support individualized goal-setting, boost confidence, and promote student ownership of their learning.Facilitate learners’ academic, linguistic, and personal development.Team Contribution & Professional CultureActively contribute to a high-performing team with a focus on solutions and growth.Collaborate to ensure consistency in practices, moderate standards, and continually improve educational offerings.Participate in and, when appropriate, lead effective and purposeful meetings with clarity and impact.Qualifications and SkillsProficiency in the French language.Proven experience in teaching iGCSE French or an equivalent level.Strong understanding of inquiry-based and project-based pedagogical strategies.Commitment to inclusive, personalized learning methods.Bachelor’s degree in French, Languages, or a related field.Valid teaching qualification with a minimum of two years’ experience.High digital literacy and expertise in utilizing technology to enhance learning experiences.Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.Why Join Citizens School?This opportunity allows you to transform language education within a supportive and innovative environment.
