BIS Support Officer
About This Role
We are looking for a confident and proactive BIS Support Officer to join our Behaviour and Inclusion Support (BIS) team.
This is a hands-on pastoral role working directly with pupils who may be experiencing barriers to learning due behaviour, attendance, engagement or other issues. You will manage an identified caseload of pupils, provide regular mentoring and targeted interventions, and build positive relationships with pupils and their families to help them make positive and sustained progress.
Working closely with our Senior Pastoral Leader, Pastoral Leaders and wider school team, you will support pupils within Behaviour and Inclusion Support and help ensure concerns are identified, followed up and acted upon.
We are looking for someone who is confident working with young people, able to build strong relationships while maintaining clear boundaries, and comfortable dealing with challenging situations calmly and consistently. You will need to be proactive, use your initiative and take ownership of your caseload rather than waiting to be directed.
Previous experience of pastoral, behaviour, youth work or similar support with young people would be particularly valuable. Experience within a secondary school is desirable, but we are equally interested in candidates with relevant experience from other settings who have the skills and confidence to make a real difference to our pupils.
