About This Role
Socrates Educa International School, located in Salou, just south of Barcelona, has the capacity to serve up to 800 students, delivering a comprehensive educational experience for learners aged 1 to 18+. This institution is the first to implement the Socrates Educa model, an innovative educational framework anticipated to be adopted by future schools.
As a lively and engaging trilingual institution, we offer instruction in English, Spanish, and Catalan, along with a variety of programs such as Pre-school, Primary, Secondary, National and International Baccalaureate (IB), as well as the US High School Dual Diploma, all with a strong international emphasis. Additionally, we provide Chinese as a foreign language. Our curriculum adheres to local standards while incorporating insights from educators worldwide, primarily delivered in English.

Position Overview
We are seeking a Secondary teacher with expertise in both national and International Baccalaureate programs for the upcoming academic year, starting in September 2026.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidates will be collaborative, innovative, and creative educators who can tailor instruction to meet diverse classroom needs, bring language to life, and are enthusiastic about thriving in a multilingual environment. Previous international experience is essential, while familiarity with the IB framework is a plus. Tutoring responsibilities will also be part of the role. Knowledge of the Catalan and/or Spanish curriculum is advantageous.
Requirements
- Be a teacher of Catalan, Spanish, English, or Chinese, passionate about the subject and capable of inspiring students with varying abilities. Experience with IB is preferred, and the ability to teach an additional subject is beneficial.
- Have strong ICT skills (comfortable using Mac/iPad and knowledgeable about educational applications).
Qualifications Needed
- Bachelor of Education / PGCE / Secondary QTS (BEd / SCITT / School Direct / Teach First) or an equivalent qualification.
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience teaching Secondary IB and Bachillerato / ESO for students aged 12-18.
- IB trained or willing to undertake IB training.
Helpful Qualifications
- Familiarity with UCAS / D of E programs.
- Knowledge of the Spanish ESO / Bachillerato curriculum.
- Proficiency in Spanish, Catalan, and English.
