Teaching Assistant (SEND)

About the roleYou will work closely with teachers and other professionals to provide tailored support that enables children with SEND to access learning, develop communication and independence and achieve their individual outcomes.The role will involve: Supporting children with complex needs within a specialist intervention class and/or providing individual support. Delivering personalised learning activities and interventions in line with children’s individual needs, targets and EHCP. Using visual communication strategies and resources to support understanding, communication and interaction. Supporting children’s emotional regulation, sensory needs and wellbeing, helping them to feel safe, secure and ready to learn. Assisting with daily routines, including transitions between activities and supporting children to develop independence. Providing intimate care, including toileting and personal hygiene, with dignity, sensitivity and respect. Creating a calm, structured and inclusive learning environment that enables children to thrive. Working collaboratively with teachers, colleagues, families and external professionals to ensure consistent, high-quality support.
