About This Role
The EPT collaborate closely with Specialist Leaders of Education from Melland High School; this collectively forms the Educational Psychology and Specialist Outreach (EPSO) Team, which is led and managed by Sue Warner (Principal, Melland High School). Hence, the postholder will receive supervision from one of the two supervising EPs within the EPT, yet will receive line management from Sue Warner. We feel it is important for supervision to be distinct from line management.
The EPT’s model of service delivery has been developed entirely in response to our schools’ needs, whereby we feel that we are already operating as ‘experts at hand’. We provide the full range of educational psychology services without limitation, including therapeutic intervention and critical incident response. Whilst individual educational psychology casework often does lead to schools applying for children and young people to receive EHCPs, this work is at the pre-statutory level. We have close working relationships with all the statutory assessment teams and educational psychology services within the local authorities where our schools are based, and do all we can to align our practices in ways that are beneficial for all.
