Certified Elementary Teachers

As-Sadiq Islamic School (OASIS) is a community-oriented educational establishment rooted in the Islamic Shia Ithna Asheri tradition. With three decades of commitment to educational excellence, we cater to over 750 students, providing programs from early childhood through Grade 12. Our mission is to offer exceptional education framed within an Islamic context. We are currently seeking certified educators to join our team in full-time, long-term occasional positions.

Requirements:

1) Strong command of English paired with excellent communication abilities.
2) A nurturing and approachable demeanor, combined with a positive attitude.
3) The capability to engage effectively with children and adolescents, serving as a constructive role model.
4) Adaptability and the ability to work independently.
5) Reliability, punctuality, and proficient organizational skills.
6) Exceptional classroom management techniques that encourage a positive and effective learning environment.
7) Ability to fulfill teacher responsibilities as outlined in the Education Act of Ontario, including:
- Crafting lesson plans that align with current Ontario pedagogical standards.
- Managing homework, assessments, and classroom activities using appropriate learning management systems.
- Assessing and evaluating student performance in accordance with the Growing Success Document.
- Actively involving parents as essential members of the school community and maintaining consistent communication with them.
8) Comfort and familiarity with 21st-century technology and relevant software applications suitable for the age group.
9) Ability to communicate effectively with administrative staff and undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by the principal.
10) A current Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) from local law enforcement is mandatory.

Job Details:

Job Type: Full Time, Salaried
Start Date: Immediately
Hours of Work: 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on scheduled school days.

Required Education: A minimum of an undergraduate degree and a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.)
Required License or Certification: OCT or equivalent
Required Experience: 0-5 years in the field of education.
Required Language: English
Salary: Based on our salary grid and dependent on your QECO standing.
