About This Role

* Provide the necessary curriculum delivery, showcasing current and precise knowledge of both curriculum and subject matter.
* Design and implement engaging lessons to inspire students, utilizing suitable materials and classroom settings that accommodate various learning styles.
* Present written evidence of lesson planning and preparation upon request. Maintain comprehensive records of curriculum outlines, year plans, attendance, teaching materials, assessment strategies, and more.
* Adhere to all GEMS policies, procedures, and codes of conduct consistently.
* Educate assigned students according to their unique needs, employing appropriate teaching methods that cater to diverse abilities such as late entrants, ESL learners, those with lower academic skills, and gifted students.
* Assign and evaluate coursework. Assess, document, and report on students’ academic growth and achievements, utilizing evaluations to ensure the curriculum aligns with individual student needs.
* Exhibit proficiency in integrating media and technology within the classroom environment.
* Foster the overall progress and well-being of students, offering guidance on educational issues.
* Engage with external parties when necessary (for instance, officials from the Ministry of Education).
* Take part in performance appraisal and management processes, as well as Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities.
* Collaborate with colleagues in the creation and enhancement of teaching materials, resources, curricula, and pastoral support arrangements.
* Engage in and, when suitable, lead co-curricular and extra-curricular activities at the school. Promote positive working relationships through proactive leadership and the exchange of ideas, resources, and experiences.
* Oversee and manage student behavior to ensure safety and appropriateness. Develop and implement strategies to foster self-discipline and handle disruptive conduct.
* Promote and model cultural awareness and understanding, while nurturing a passion for learning.
* Assist in the planning and organization of school events and functions, such as inter-house competitions, concerts, school plays, and award ceremonies.
* Regularly communicate and meet with parents to promote the GEMS philosophy and core values; keep them informed about their children's progress while maintaining confidentiality regarding student-related matters.
* Demonstrate initiative and dedication beyond the standard work hours when tasks require extra commitment.
