About This Role

Job Summary:

SNA-HCMC is on the lookout for a qualified PYP Homeroom Teacher to start in AUGUST 2026. The ideal applicant will have at least 2 years of experience in teaching the PYP. We also expect active involvement in Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs) as we work to enhance our CCA program.

It is essential to mention that SNA-HCMC is a member of CIS and is fully accredited by WASC, with a strong emphasis on safeguarding and child protection throughout our recruitment process. We comply with the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, and all candidates must be ready to provide relevant background checks. Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand and comply with SNA school policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Interact professionally and effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
  • Integrate and support IB teaching and learning approaches (ATL’s) in daily lessons.
  • Embody the attributes of the IB learner profile.
  • Assist students with the PYP exhibition when applicable.
  • Engage in collaborative meetings at the grade level and across subjects to improve both the written and taught curriculum.
  • Commit to continuous professional development.
  • Consistently communicate and collaborate with department colleagues regarding planning, assessment, parent engagement, subject organization, and classroom management, including behavior expectations and routines.
  • Collaborate with school staff to promote social and emotional awareness.
  • Actively participate in the behavioral management and pastoral care of your homeroom and other classes.
  • Attend and positively contribute to staff meetings.
  • Supervise student breaks as needed.
  • Organize class activities as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of assessments, attendance, planning, reports, conferences, and parent communication using ManageBac and Classdojo/Seesaw.
  • Foster connections with the parent community to keep them updated on student learning, encouraging their participation in events such as Parents as Learner (PAL) meetings, Student Led Conferences (SLCs), PYP exhibitions, and PTA involvement.
  • Act as a resource for new staff members regarding curriculum, schedules, and procedures.
  • Take part in school events and carry out additional tasks as assigned by the PYP Coordinator.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Primary Education; a Master’s degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience teaching the Primary Years Programme in IB or international school settings.
  • In-depth knowledge of IB PYP frameworks and inquiry-based learning techniques.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and delivering engaging, differentiated Arts lessons for a diverse student body.
  • Strong classroom management and student supervision skills.
  • Proficiency in integrating technology and digital tools into Arts instruction.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Creative, collaborative, and proactive in enhancing school life and CCAs.
  • Commitment to child safeguarding and ability to provide valid background checks.
  • Willingness to engage in school-wide initiatives, professional development, and student activities.
