In this role, you will utilize exceptional interpersonal skills, a strong commitment to project-based learning, and foster an engaging classroom environment for your students.

ADEA serves three Denesuline First Nations communities in northern Saskatchewan: Black Lake First Nation, Hatchet Lake First Nation, and Fond Du Lac First Nation, collectively educating approximately 1,400 students. We are dedicated to improving educational outcomes through innovative technology, the piloting of cutting-edge programs, and integrating Denesuline culture into both classroom experiences and the curriculum.

Our offerings include group insurance (covering vision, dental, life, and additional health benefits such as chiropractic and massage therapy), as well as eligibility for the company’s registered pension plan. In alignment with the provincial teacher's salary grid, we provide subsidized housing and a northern allowance. You will collaborate with leaders and colleagues dedicated to enhancing the educational and emotional success of every student.

  • Regularly assess and document student learning.
  • Track student progress and provide constructive feedback to students and parents.
  • Participate in professional development, attend staff meetings, engage in parent-teacher conferences, and take part in other school-related activities.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must exemplify patience, flexibility, keen observational skills, and a genuine passion for teaching.
  • Strong communication skills are essential, including both verbal and nonverbal communication, active listening, and empathy.
  • A solid grasp of Effective Practices, Policies and Guidelines, and the Saskatchewan Curriculum is required.
  • Commitment to the provincial Ministry of Education curricula with an emphasis on holistic child development, addressing social-emotional, physical, intellectual, and spiritual aspects.
  • Actively engage with families, children, and community members to understand their backgrounds and experiences, fostering an equitable and inclusive school atmosphere.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with administrators, colleagues, central office staff, students, parents, and the community.
  • Uphold confidentiality concerning student and professional information.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education or its equivalent.
